HVAC Tools Hub
HVAC engineering workspace with calculators and references
About HVAC Tools Hub
A focused workspace for HVAC calculations, technical references, and guides. Duct sizing, load calculation, and refrigeration tools with clear engineering context.
HVAC Tools Hub provides a functional area which serves HVAC experts and engineering staff and technical personnel and students who require accurate calculations together with dependable technical information. The hub unifies calculators with engineering utilities and lookup data and straightforward guides which all exist in a single well-organized platform.
What HVAC Tools Hub offers
The workspace provides four connected paths that support every stage of HVAC work:
Tools section with focused calculators for duct design, load calculation, and refrigeration checks
Reference area containing units, formulas, lookup data, and technical standards
Compare tool for side-by-side context when choosing between approaches, such as Manual J vs rule of thumb sizing
Guides section with plain-language explanations that explain assumptions, formulas, and limits behind each calculation
Key features
Every calculator is built for real engineering work:
Duct design tools: Duct size calculator, rectangular duct size, equivalent diameter, friction loss, cross-sectional area, velocity, and CFM calculator
Load calculation tools: HVAC load calculator with documented component inputs and transparent preliminary results
Refrigeration tools: Refrigeration capacity, superheat, and subcooling calculators using documented state points and measured temperatures
Companion guides: Each tool has a corresponding guide that explains the context, assumptions, and best practices
Who it is for
This workspace is built for HVAC engineers, technicians, and students who want to make informed decisions. The tools support everyday tasks like sizing ductwork, calculating loads, checking refrigerant conditions, and converting units. The calculators provide specific information which users need to check their assumptions while they prevent standard calculation errors.
Why it stands out
The HVAC Tools Hub provides tools which deliver answers together with reference data and explanatory materials instead of showing simple calculator results. The workflow requires users to define their input before they can select the appropriate tool and perform a final context evaluation. The method prevents users from making three common errors which include selecting equipment that is too large and using rule-of-thumb shortcuts incorrectly and disregarding the essential pressure-path requirements.
The hub receives ongoing updates which bring better tools together with additional instructional resources. The latest updates have brought enhancements to the duct friction loss and cross-sectional area and velocity and CFM and refrigeration calculators. All updates receive documentation which includes their scheduled maintenance date.

Hi everyone! I built HVAC Tools Hub to make practical HVAC calculations, conversions, and reference information easier to access in one place. The site includes tools for airflow, duct sizing, heating and cooling loads, refrigeration, and psychrometrics. I’d appreciate any feedback on missing tools, unclear results, or improvements that would make it more useful.
