Solve Game Prep

Solve Game Prep is hands-on practice for the McKinsey Solve game. Instead of reading about the game, you sit down and play it: original exercises in all three Solve formats, with worked examples, timed runs and a structured debrief afterwards so you can see what to improve.

WHAT YOU PRACTISE

Red Rock - you are given a set of evidence and a question, and you have to turn that evidence into a calculated answer. The exercise trains you to pull the right numbers out of a messy brief, decide which ones matter, and land on a defensible figure rather than a guess.

Sea Wolf - you are given a combination of options and a set of site rules, and you have to test whether that combination actually holds. The exercise trains rule-checking discipline: read every constraint, apply it literally, and catch the case where an otherwise sensible plan breaks one line of the brief.

Sustainable Futures Lab - you are given competing priorities and stakeholders, and you have to rank them and defend the trade-off you made. The exercise trains structured judgement: what you prioritise, what you deprioritise, and how you explain the cost of that choice.

HOW PRACTICE WORKS

Every exercise is interactive. You make the decisions yourself - you choose the numbers, the combination or the ranking - and then you review a debrief that shows how your answer was scored and where the reasoning slipped. You can repeat a format as many times as you like and compare runs over time.
