About Uptime Logger

Free connection monitor for Windows and macOS. Logs every internet outage and shows a year of history as a calendar heatmap. No account, no cloud, no telemetry.

UptimeLogger watches your internet connection around the clock and writes down when it was gone and for how long. The next call with your provider is then about facts, not impressions.

A tray icon shows the current state — green online, red offline, no window in your way. The dashboard is served by the application itself on your own machine and opens in your browser.

What it gives you:

- Continuous monitoring — a background process opens TCP connections to a configurable list of servers (public DNS resolvers by IP, so a broken name lookup is not mistaken for a broken connection). No administrator rights needed.

- Calendar heatmap — a year at a glance; the darker a day, the more interruptions. Click a day and log and figures jump to it.

- The figures that matter — outages, time offline, longest outage, availability and monitored time, for any period you pick.

- Full event log — every online and offline stretch with start time, duration, network interface and Wi-Fi name. CSV export, plus a PDF report for your provider.

- Starts with your session, optional and switchable from the dashboard.

Your data stays with you: a local SQLite database, no account, no backend, no telemetry. The only outbound traffic is the connection probes themselves and an optional version check you can switch off.

Free of charge — no trial, no paid tier, no ads. Windows 10 or newer, macOS 11 or newer (universal). The source code is not published: the app is free, not open source. It is not code-signed, so both systems warn once on first launch; the installation page shows the one-time step.

Hi, I'm Patrick. My line drops several times a day, and all I had for my provider was "it feels like it keeps dropping" — nothing anyone can act on. So I built the record: TCP probes every few seconds, every outage logged with its duration, a year as a calendar heatmap, CSV export and a PDF report. Free, no account, nothing leaves your machine. Two honest caveats: the source isn't published, and it isn't code-signed, so both systems warn once on first launch. Tell me what's wrong with it.
