About XReply Reply Manager

XReply helps you save time and maximize engagement by letting you create, schedule, and reuse replies across Twitter threads and conversations.

Building on X sounds fun until you actually have to reply to people.

You see a good post. You want to leave a useful comment. Then you spend five minutes rewriting the same two sentences so they do not sound fake, salesy, or like a bot.

I got tired of that loop. So I built XReply.

The idea

XReply helps you reply on X without leaving the feed.

You click a post, it writes a reply in your voice, and you paste it. That is the whole product.

Why I did not want “another AI writer”

There are already plenty of AI tools that can draft text. Most of them have the same problems:

  • The output sounds generic

  • You have to copy context into another app

  • The reply does not match how you normally talk

I wanted something narrower:

  • Built for X replies only

  • Tuned to the user’s tone

  • Fast enough that it feels like part of the browser, not a separate writing session

How it works for the user

  1. Install the Chrome extension

  2. Set up a short profile (who you are, how you sound, what to avoid)

  3. Click a post on X

  4. Get a reply

  5. Paste and send

One reply costs one credit. New users get 200 credits free. After that, a $15 pack gives 5,000 credits with no subscription.

What is under the hood

I kept the system small on purpose.

  • Chrome extension for the in-feed action

  • Next.js app for account, onboarding, and billing

  • Supabase for auth, profile data, and credits

  • Paddle for checkout

  • An LLM for generation, guided by the user’s profile and reply preferences

The important part is not the model name. It is the context you give it. Bio, tone, interests, goals, and “do not say this” rules matter more than fancy UI.

Lessons from building it

Ship the painful part first.
The painful part was writing replies, not managing a dashboard. So the first useful version was click → reply → paste.

Tone is the product.
If the reply sounds like everyone else’s AI, people will not come back. If it sounds like them, they forgive small rough edges.

Credits fit better than monthly plans for this use case.
Some users reply every day. Some reply once a week. Prepaid credits made more sense than forcing everyone into a subscription.

Distribution matters as much as code.
A working extension with zero distribution still feels like a side project. Listing the product, writing in public, and asking for feedback is part of the build.

Who it is for

If you:

  • reply to people on X a lot

  • hate spending minutes on every comment

  • want something that sounds like you

then XReply is worth trying.
