About Yalqen

Free, open-source Chromium browser for developers on Mac. Vertical tabs, a command bar, built-in DevTools and responsive previews. No telemetry, no account.

Yalqen is a free, open-source Chromium browser built for developers on Mac. It brings everyday browsing and practical web development tools into one place, with vertical tabs, a keyboard-first command bar, and familiar Chromium DevTools.

A clearer everyday workflow

Keep your tabs in a vertical sidebar and use the command bar to search, switch between open tabs, and run developer commands. Built-in ad and tracker blocking helps you stay focused while browsing. Yalqen requires no account and has no telemetry.

Developer tools where you browse

Open Chromium DevTools to inspect layouts, debug JavaScript, and follow network requests. Use phone view to preview a page inside a device frame, choose device presets, rotate the view, or resize the viewport when checking responsive layouts.

Test more than the happy path

Apply network throttling per tab to try offline behavior, slow connections, and loading states. Switch user agents, test dark and light color schemes, and enable reduced motion to check accessibility preferences. Saved request rules can block requests, mock responses, redirect URLs, or rewrite request headers without setting up a separate proxy.

Separate development sessions

Developer windows have their own session so you can test an account alongside your personal browsing. Developer cookies, storage, and cache clear when the last developer window closes. Private windows are also available for separate browsing tasks.

Free and open source

Yalqen is available for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. Download it from yalqen.com or install it with Homebrew using: brew install --cask YSamed/yalqen/yalqen. Source code, releases, and issue reporting are available at https://github.com/YSamed/yalqen.

Yalqen supports part of the Chrome extension APIs, and Chromium updates follow Electron releases. It currently has no cross-device sync. If you need to test WebKit or Gecko, keep Safari or Firefox alongside Yalqen.

We welcome feedback from developers trying Yalqen in their daily workflow. Tell us which built-in tool saves you time and what you would like to see improved.
