Haptics Explorer
Feel iOS haptic patterns on a real iPhone, copy the code
About Haptics Explorer
Haptics Explorer lets iOS developers feel haptic patterns on a real iPhone, tune them, and copy the code snippet to paste into an app.
Haptics Explorer is a reference and testing tool for anyone who designs or builds haptic feedback for iPhone apps. The iOS Simulator cannot vibrate, so the only honest way to judge a haptic is to feel it on a real device. Haptics Explorer puts the available patterns in one place, lets you play and tune them on your own iPhone, and then gives you code you can paste into your project.
It is built mainly for iOS developers, but it is also useful for UX designers and anyone who cares about how an app feels in the hand. If you are adding feedback to a game, a productivity app, or an accessibility feature, you can compare options side by side before you commit to one in code.
The pattern library is organized into eight categories. Impact covers light, medium, heavy, rigid, and soft taps. Notifications cover success, error, and warning. There is selection feedback, rhythm patterns such as a heartbeat, double and triple taps, and tick-tock, gesture feedback for swipe, pinch, and long press, game patterns such as an explosion, a power-up, and a collision, accessibility patterns, and your own custom patterns. You can filter by category, search, mark favorites, and see what you played recently or most often.
Testing is hands-on. Play a pattern once, loop it, or run a long test that repeats it for 15 seconds, 60 seconds, or until you stop. Intensity sliders run from 0 to 100 percent, sharpness can be adjusted, and speed can be set to 0.5x, 1x, or 2x, with a live preview as you change values. A comparison mode plays related feedback in a row, such as success, warning, and error, or focus and selection, so you can tell them apart. You can also tap out a rhythm to record it, or turn a short sound into taps.
When you want something new, the Custom Pattern Creator gives you control over intensity, sharpness, duration, and timing, and the Sequence Editor combines several patterns into one longer piece of feedback. Pre-built templates give you a starting point. When a pattern is right, Haptics Explorer generates a ready-to-use snippet in UIKit, SwiftUI, Combine, or async/await form, which you can copy or share with your team. You can import an AHAP haptic file, and widgets, Control Center, and Siri let you replay the last pattern without opening the library. The interface uses a neumorphic design with dark mode support.
Haptics Explorer is free to download from the App Store. It offers optional in-app purchases: a Premium subscription, weekly or monthly, and a one-time purchase to remove ads. Premium removes all ads, unlocks describing a pattern on your device and exporting AHAP files, and adds priority support. The App Store lists it for iPhone and iPad, and it requires iOS 17.0 or later.
