About Pocket Screen
Keep PDFs, webpages, and other Mac app windows visible in a separate, resizable live view while you work. Free to start, with an optional one-time upgrade.
Pocket Screen keeps reference material visible while you work on your Mac. It creates a separate, resizable live Picture-in-Picture view of a supported app window, so you can keep a PDF, webpage, document, dashboard, or other reference in sight while continuing in another app. The original window stays where it is.
It is designed for the everyday moments when you need to see two things at once on a single MacBook display: writing while checking a PDF, following a tutorial while using another application, entering information from a webpage, or keeping instructions and a progress window nearby. You can move and resize the floating reference view to fit your workspace.
The reference is a live view, with an option to pause updates when you want to hold a particular moment on screen. Click Through lets you interact with the application behind the floating view. Opacity controls, adjustable update quality, global keyboard shortcuts, and menu bar operation provide ways to fit the view into your existing workflow.
Pocket Screen creates an additional reference view of the selected supported window. This is useful for more than video: a browser page, document, PDF, or dashboard can remain visible alongside your work. Supported window content is processed locally on your Mac and is not uploaded to Toybird Labs servers.
You can keep using the free version without an expiration date or an app account. It includes an unlimited number of sessions, each lasting up to ten minutes. An optional US $9.99 one-time purchase removes that session limit for longer continuous use. There is no monthly or annual subscription.
Pocket Screen supports macOS 14 or later on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. It is made by Toybird Labs and is available from the Mac App Store. Start with a reference you already use in your daily work, place its live view where you need it, and continue working in your other app.
