TrainScription

TrainScription is a local AI transcription tool delivered as a Chrome extension. It captures microphone audio and meeting or system audio, then transcribes speech in real time using Whisper running directly on the user's device through WebAssembly. Audio processing happens locally rather than being sent to cloud transcription services. The product emphasizes privacy, offline operation, and avoiding meeting bots that join calls as participants. A key feature is the Phonetic Brain, a user-managed vocabulary system that corrects recurring transcription mistakes involving names, jargon, product terms, case names, and other specialized language. Transcripts are speaker-labeled, timestamped, stored locally, and can be exported as TXT or SRT files. The tool supports browser-based meetings and, in its Pro version, desktop applications that generate audio on the user's machine.
