Dictami

Dictami is a native voice dictation app for macOS that puts your words into the text field you are already using. Hold the right Command key, speak naturally, and release it when you are done. Dictami turns the recording into polished text with punctuation and capitalization, then inserts it into the active app.

It works wherever you can type: messages, email, notes, documents, browser forms, ChatGPT, Slack, Notion, Google Docs, code editors, and more. There is no separate editor to open and no copy-and-paste step between apps. The same shortcut stays available while you work.

Recognition runs on your Apple Silicon Mac. After you download a language model, Dictami can recognize speech without an internet connection. Audio is not sent to a transcription server. Dictations and recordings can remain in local history on your Mac so you can review or play them back; history can be disabled in Settings.

Dictami supports 30 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Czech, Slovak, Slovenian, Croatian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Hungarian, Greek, Swedish, Danish, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. The app chooses the appropriate local recognition model for the language you use.

The experience is designed around a simple gesture: hold, speak, release. You do not need an account to start the trial, and the trial runs inside the app. Dictami is for people who write messages, notes, email, documents, and first drafts faster by speaking than typing.

Requires macOS 13 Ventura or later and an Apple Silicon Mac with an M1 chip or newer. Dictami is available as a seven-day trial, with monthly, yearly, and lifetime license options for continued use.
