Waitlist is the pre launch interest system for eligible products on KittyLaunch.
It is designed to help makers collect demand before a product goes live, then turn that demand into launch day traffic and post launch follow up.
When waitlist is useful
Waitlist is most useful for:
- draft products
- scheduled products
- products building momentum before launch
- makers who want a launch day email audience ready in advance
Who sees the waitlist
SuperKitty products
For SuperKitty products, the waitlist can appear to public visitors when the product is still in an eligible pre launch state.
Non SuperKitty products
For non SuperKitty products, normal visitors do not see the same active waitlist form.
For the upgrade side of this relationship, read SuperKitty Guide.
How waitlist join works
The join flow depends on whether the visitor is logged in.
Logged in user
If the user is logged in, the system can use the account email for the join.
For logged in users, joining the waitlist can also create the product follow relationship automatically.
Guest user
If the user is not logged in, they need to enter an email address.
For the full waitlist flow, the system uses a double opt in confirmation model. The user is expected to confirm the email before being treated as confirmed.
Email sharing with the maker
Waitlist users can choose whether to share their email with the maker.
This is important because maker email access is permission based.
The maker can only access emails from users who explicitly agreed to share them.
Confirmation, unsubscribe, and rejoin
Waitlist email flows support:
- confirmation links
- unsubscribe links
- rejoin behavior after a previous unsubscribe
This keeps waitlist communication permission based and manageable.
Waitlist launch day emails
When an eligible waitlist product goes live, confirmed waitlist members can receive launch day emails.
This is one of the strongest reasons to build the waitlist before launch. It converts pre launch interest into immediate launch traffic.
Shareable waitlist page
Eligible products can also have a dedicated shareable waitlist page.
That page is useful for:
- social bios
- email signatures
- launch teasers
- communities
- pre launch campaigns
The waitlist page is intentionally different from the main product page. It is focused on conversion, not on competing with the main product page in search.
What makers can see in waitlist management
For eligible products, the maker dashboard can expose:
- total waitlist count
- opted in count
- the list of shared emails
- CSV export of shared emails
Export only applies to users who agreed to share their email.
Best practices for makers
Waitlist works best when:
- you start collecting signups before launch
- your shareable link is used consistently
- you clearly explain what the product is
- you respect the email sharing permission
- you treat launch day email traffic as a real part of your launch plan
